JADS, together with Wiemer Kuik (Hogeschool Utrecht), is organizing an interactive training (lab) on November 29, 2024 completely dedicated to exploring the possibilities of Generative AI and chatbots in education. This lab is specially designed to inform you about the current state of affairs in the world of Artificial Intelligence, with an especially dedicated focus on the applications within education and above all a hands on approach. You will leave with a working chat bot that really adds value to your own work.
What to expect?
During this inspiring day, we will dive deep into the world of AI and explore how, as a teacher, you can effectively use AI and chatbots to relieve you of routine tasks throughout the educational process – from the development of teaching materials to implementation, testing and evaluation.
You’ll learn how to use AI tools to, among other things:
- Personalize and optimize instructional materials.
- Automate and refine student guidance.
- Efficiently assess tests and homework.
- Generate critical feedback and assessments.
- Create Multiple Choice questions.
In addition, we will focus on the art of asking the right questions – formulating effective “prompts” – that are essential to using AI tools effectively. You’ll discover how asking the right questions can help you get more relevant and useful answers that save you both time and effort.
The structure of the workshop is in 3 parts:
- Brief insight into the capabilities of generative AI.
- Learning to ask the right question: prompt engineering.
- Creating and applying a first chatbot of your own.
We’ll also cover how to choose the right framework for your specific educational needs, enabling you to take full advantage of the benefits of AI technology.
