We are hosting an online alumni event on April 9th!
Is trust out-data-ed?
Keynote speaker: Philippe Remarque
Philippe will talk about how journalism has evolved over the years and how it’s becoming more and more data-driven. He will also shed some light upon the rise of social media and fake news. Can media and science overcome fake news?
Remarque has worked for de Volkskrant since 1996, previously as a correspondent in Washington D.C. and Berlin and as a political editor in The Hague, among other places. Between 1991 and 1996 he was a correspondent in Moscow for De Telegraaf, De Groene Amsterdammer and various radio stations. He started as editor-in-chief of de Volkskrant in 1993. Remarque quit as editor-in-chief on September 1, 2019. He is now the journalism director of De Persgroep and will combine that position with the position director-publisher of de Volkskrant, Trouw and Het Parool.
