For governments, it is essential to access, combine and leverage data. This is the only way they can create a meaningful impact for their inhabitants in the face of increasingly large and complex societal challenges. That is precisely where this program will support you as a professional. Learn from leading experts what digitization can mean for you. And how your policy topic can be designed accordingly.

Purpose of this program Digitalization for Government?

In recent years, we have seen technological changes with increasing impact follow each other faster and faster. One major reason: datafication. Datafication is also a driver of major changes in central government. Data translators are needed to guide these changes in a sustainable way. Data translators are bridge builders who can link domain-oriented tasks and departmental goals to usable datasets and technologies.

Learning goals:

After completing the Digitalization for Government program, you will be able to:

  • Understand in broad terms the impact of new (digital) technologies, including big data and artificial intelligence, on the economy and society;
  • Explain the field of tension between commercial interests and public values created by digitization and name the role of governments in this;
  • Name the opportunities and possibilities that digitalisation creates for our social tasks;
  • Demonstrating “digital entrepreneurship” within your own field of work, by identifying opportunities to create value with data;
  • Gain insight into success and failure factors from government practice when deploying digitization and data;
  • Being a client of a data project yourself.

Especially built for:

  • Public sector program leaders or strategists.

The program is open to employees of government institutions; ministries, provinces, municipalities, but also, for example, water boards and environmental services. Learn about the impact of new (digital) technologies such as artificial intelligence and, in particular, generative AI. Specific prior knowledge of Data Science / AI is not required to follow this program.
