EGPROC 2025

We are delighted to announce the 43rd Meeting of the European Group of Process Tracing Studies (EGPROC 2025)! The meeting will take place on Thursday and Friday, June 26th and 27th, 2025, at the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. The academy offers a beautiful building (former monastery) with excellent infrastructure and in-house catering, ensuring a highly productive and engaging experience for all attendees. It is centrally located in a beautiful historical town, a 5-minute walk from the central station, which offers a direct (1 hour) train connection to Amsterdam/Schiphol. EGPROC 2025 is organized by Martijn Willemsen, Tiffany Matej Hrkalovic and Antonia Krefeld-Schwalb

About EGPROC:

EGPROC brings together researchers from all career levels and various backgrounds, including those in psychology, economics, and cognitive science, using process-tracing methods such as mouse tracking and eye tracking, computational models of cognitive processes and phenomena, and neuroimaging foundations of human judgment and decision-making. Process-tracing methods provide valuable insights into cognitive phenomena such as attention, emotion, strategy use, decision-making, and neural correlates. This is achieved through techniques like subject self-reports, movement-based measurements, peripheral psychophysiology, and neural imaging.

Call for submissions

For EGPROC 2025, we encourage submissions that leverage these methods to inform our understanding of cognitive phenomena. This year, we are particularly excited to broaden the scope to include research on both human interactions and human-technology interactions.

We welcome contributions on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Process tracing in non-interactive settings (e.g., attention, decision-making, etc.)
  • Process tracing in human-human interactions
  • Process tracing in human-technology interactions
  • Novel datasets providing process-tracing data
  • Cognitive modeling

Submission Criteria

All submissions must follow the same format. Please submit an extended abstract of between 500-700 words. Please make sure that your abstract addresses each of the following components: Objectives, Methods (including methodological details (Sample Size, Transparent Description of the Study Design, Procedure, and Measures), Results, and Conclusions. Additionally, please note whether your study was preregistered or not.
