In Tilburg University’s Masters that Matter series, Master student Eva Haverkort shares her journey through the JADS Master Data Science in Business and Entrepreneurship. As Eva puts it, “What makes this program unique is how it merges data science and AI with entrepreneurial and societal insights.”

Eva’s story highlights how the program goes beyond theory. During her master’s thesis, she focuses on making AI more explainable in healthcare, where transparency can save lives. By designing models that predict conditions like sepsis while providing clear explanations for doctors, Eva is contributing to solutions that build trust in AI. As she explains, “Doctors won’t use AI they can’t understand. By making AI explainable, we build trust and help it make a real difference in people’s lives.”
