Graduation of second batch of students Master Data Science & Entrepreneurship
Posted onOn Friday 12 July 2019, JADS celebrated the second batch of graduates from the Master’s program Data Science and Entrepreneurship.
A total of 14 students obtained their Master’s degrees. In his speech during the graduation ceremony, Arjan van der Born, Academic Director, emphasized one of the ambitions of JADS; building a bridge between academia and society. This is exactly what the students achieved; their thesis subjects showcased the diversity of data science and the relevance of data science to business and society.
One student, for example, developed a solution that helps detect limpness in horses. Another graduate worked together with KLM to use data to minimize the problem of lost baggage. A third student used deep learning to help detect plastic waste in a river in Jakarta, Indonesia.
We wish the students a great future and all the best in their careers!
